Cases and Interpretations
ASME publishes cases and interpretations that supplement our standards and codes. Cases represent alternatives or additions to existing provisions; Interpretations provide clarification of the meaning of existing rules in a question and reply format, without introducing new requirements.

Posting of Errata to Codes and Standards
Errata to codes and standards may be posted on the ASME Web site under the Committee Pages to provide corrections to incorrectly published items, or to correct typographical or grammatical errors in code and standard. Such errata shall be used on the date posted.
On the Committee Page there is an option available to automatically receive an e-mail notification when errata are posted to a particular code or standard. This option can be found on the appropriate Committee Page after selecting “Errata” in the “Publication Information” section. To find the appropriate Committee page search or use the drop down list at Committee Central.
Most ASME codes and standards are available from our web site in digital PDF format for immediate downloading from SHOP. The PDFs are a single-user product with a license granted by ASME for personal use only. Digital PDFs are encrypted and require both the Acrobat plug-in and the FileOpen Acrobat plug-in.
