B5: Technical Committee 52 – Machine Tool Performance
The B5 Technical Committee 52 is looking for engineers/R&D managers/other experts  who are knowledgeable in the design, manufacture, and testing of machine tools and machine tool components.  This committee is in the need of serious professionals, willing to invest their time and expertise by volunteering to participate in the standardization of methods for the performance evaluation of machine tools.  This committee generally meets one to two times a year at mutually agreed venues to review and revise existing, National Standards and to develop new Standards as required to stay current with progressing technologies and industry practices.   Representation from the US machine tool industry is especially needed although experts representing machine users and test equipment / service organization are also encouraged to respond.

ASME B30.18 Subcommittee on Stacker Cranes (Top or Under Running Bridge, Multiple Girder With Top or Under Running Trolley Hoist) is looking for Volunteers to participate on the Committee. Volunteers would be responsible for updating and maintaining this volume of the B30 standards to incorporate industry best practices and changes that address industry safety concerns.

B16 Subcommittee L – Gas Shutoffs and Valves
ASME B16 Subcommittee L is looking for volunteer members. Subcommittee L is responsible for development and maintenance of the following ASME Standards:

B16.33 - Manually Operated Metallic Gas Valves for Use in Gas Piping Systems up to 125 psi (Sizes NPS ½ through NPS 2);

B16.38 – Large Metallic Valves for Gas Distribution;

B16.40 – Manually Operated Thermoplastic Gas Shutoffs and Valves in Gas Distribution Systems

B16.44 – Manually Operated Metallic Gas Valves for Use in Aboveground Piping Systems up to 5 PSI

Members will be responsible for updating and maintaining these documents and to incorporate industry best practices and changes that address industry safety concerns.

The B5 Technical Committee 94 is looking for engineers/technicians who are knowledgeable on metalworking cutting tools and their accessories.  This committee is in the need of serious professionals, willing to invest their time and expertise by volunteering to participate in the standardization of Milling, drilling and boring tools, Reamers, Saws and machine knives, Tool holders, adaptors and drivers, Tool guide bushings, Tool set-up gages, and Tool testing procedures.This committee and its technical working groups generally meet one to two times a year at mutually agreed venues. As member of the committee you will be submitting, drafting and reviewing standards proposals and drafts and making comments and counterproposals on our national standards.

Structures for Bulk Solids Standards Committee
The SBS Standards Committee is in the process of completing development of a new ASME Standard to address the design and construction of storage containers for bulk solids. The committee is looking for experienced professionals with knowledge of the bulk solids industry, who can commit time and resources to volunteer in ASME standards development.

The committee meets, on average, twice a year and has teleconferences between meetings. As a member of this committee you will be drafting, submitting and reviewing proposals for inclusion in this new standard.

Participants in the ASME C&S process play a vital role in enhancing the standards of their respective industry and have the opportunity to influence industry practice on a worldwide scale. Members also gain unique opportunities to expand their professional networks and technical resources.

This Committee is responsible for standardizing procedures for quantifying the accuracy of modeling and simulation in computational methods for medical devices.
