ASME's History and Heritage program celebrates and landmarks the significant contributions of mechanical engineers in creating a better society
For generations, our profession has shaped lives and broadened the world through contributions in such fields as agriculture, manufacturing, food processing, materials handling, transportation, power generation and much more. We have achieved much and have much still to do.
Our History and Heritage Newsletter, which will be published semi-annually, will familiarize and connect you with notable achievements of mechanical engineering history and with ASME's History and Heritage program. It will provide meaningful resources and guide units in how to participate in the H&H program. If you are interested in designating a landmark, creating an inventory of likely landmark candidates in your area, pursuing the oral or video documentation of some significant engineers, or helping those in your geographic area rediscover their own history, contact us to volunteer. If you have ideas for articles, questions or other history-related items, let us know!
We hope you will join us as we honor the mechanical engineering technology that shapes our world and the fascinating people behind it.
