Purchasing, fabricating, maintaining and repairing equipment at the lowest possible cost while assuring non-failure is always a priority. You will examine case studies detailing companies who have saved millions of dollars through planned and supervised procedures. We will also review comparisons with similar situations in other plants where lack of available experience and expertise resulted in unnecessary dismantling and/or replacement of the same parts or components. Participants will receive the textbook, Fitness for Service & Integrity of Piping Vessels and Tanks by George Antaki, and the codebook, PCC-2 Repair of Pressure Equipment and Piping.

Who Should Attend
Users, manufacturers, repair organization and inspection agency representatives involved in repair of alterations of pressure vessels, boilers, piping, tanks, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, digesters, valves and gears.

 

Instructor
Mr. George Antaki (Aiken, South Carolina) is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and serves on several ASME technical committees, including ASME B31 Mechanical Design Committee, ASME Post-Construction Executive Committee, ASME Subcommittee on Repairs and Testing. He is Chairman of the Pressure Vessel Research Council Subcommittee on Dynamic Analysis and Vice-chairman of the joint ASME-API committee on Fitness-for-Service.

Mr. Antaki is a practicing mechanical engineer, active in the field of equipment and systems design, procurement, construction, inspection, maintenance, fitness-for-service, and failure investigation.

He is the author of the recently published book, Piping and Pipeline Engineering, and of many papers and bulletins in the field of equipment integrity and failure prevention.
