The International Gas Turbine Institute (IGTI) of ASME is dedicated to supporting the international exchange and development of information to improve the design, application, manufacture, operation and maintenance, and environmental impact of all types of gas turbines, turbomachinery and related equipment.
Since 1956 IGTI has been an important resource for the gas turbine community, hosting an annual conference and exposition, Turbo Expo, as well as providing professional development tools to foster knowledge and career growth. In addition, IGTI's 16 technical committees provide regular ongoing forums for program development and technical exchange, addressing all areas of technical expertise related to gas turbines.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey.
New State of the Art Short Course for the Gas Turbine Industry!
Hands-on Thermodynamics of Power and Aero Engines May 28 – 30, 2008
Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center State College, PA
Don't miss an opportunity like this to experience hands-on start-up and testing of a gas turbine with sections removed for close-up inspection! Course participants will be able to start and test the Thrust Demonstrator which will include the following:
- Compressor, turbine, combustion chamber, ignition
- Instrumentation
- Fuel and lubrication subsystems
- Power and starting-up
- Test at different speeds and record pressure ratio and thrust
This course will allow engineers throughout the world to acquire ready familiarity as to how the gas turbine engine works. The instructor, Dr. Horacio Perez-Blanco, professor of mechanical engineering at Penn State, will illustrate the challenging requirements on materials and flow that demand careful inspection and maintenance.
