ASME BPE serves the needs of those involved in the BioProcessing, Pharmaceutical, and Personal Care Product industries.
The ASME BioProcessing Equipment (ASME BPE) Standard provides designers and process engineers with a reliable and measurable way of specifying Hygienic Tubes, Valves and Fittings for use in High Purity applications such as Water-for-Injection (WFI), clean steam, ultrafiltration, etc. As a result, the process of design installation, validation and maintenance will be easier to manage and should assist in minimizing overall project and maintenance costs.
State of California Has Adopted the ASME BioProcessing Equipment (BPE) Standard by Reference
The State of California has codified the L (Laboratory) Occupancy, which was designed for R&D Laboratories and proposed for use in all areas by the State Fire Marshal. Part of the L Occupancy adoption is the reference to supporting standards, one of which is the ASME BPE Standard. It is included in the 2010 California Building Code, Title 24, Part 2 (CCR, Title 24). The L Occupancy is being introduced to the International Code Council ICC) for national adoption.
