Background ASME International (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) established the Industry Advisory Board (IAB) in 1987 to help ensure ASME programs are relevant and effective for its members in industry and to strengthen the Society's ties to industrial members. Over 80 percent of ASME's members (non-students) are employed by industry.
Vision The overall vision of the IAB is to be the voice of industry within ASME.
Mission To provide ASME the insight of industry through the following activities:
Organization and Activities The IAB is comprised of industry executives at or near the CEO level of large and small companies that employ ASME members. The IAB meets twice a year -- in the spring and fall. Meetings focus on a wide range of topics mutual interest to industry and ASME.
