ABOUT STUDENT PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCES
The ASME Student Professional Development Conferences (SPDC's)
introduce students to ASME, and provide a forum to train future ASME officers
and leaders. In addition, the SPDC's are a valuable resource for enabling technology
transfer among students, and are the setting for various ASME student competitions.
The information below pertains to the competitions that are held
at SPDC's, and will be helpful to those who host a conference. For additional
information on SPDC's, please visit the Student
Professional Development Conference website

REGISTRATION FILES
You may use these templates, editing them with information on your SPDC, or
create similar files to organize your registration information.
For conferences that include both competitions and student section leadership
training, please keep track of which students are authorized to attend the conference
and why (i.e. if they are there for as a student section officer, or as a contestant
in either the Old Guard or Student Design Competitions). In this case,
use the registration template for combined conferences below.
NOTE: In any case, please send your final registration list, including the
names, e-mail addresses, and school name, to Marian Heller, hellerm@asme.org.
For students participating in any of the competitions, and student section officers,
please also include their ASME member number.
You can edit for your SPDC, print and have available at registration the following
files to make on-site registration move more quickly:
- ASME
On-Site Registration Summary Report (for keeping track of those who registered
on-site)
- ASME
No-Show List
- ASME
On-Site Registration Form (for those attendees who need to register on-site)
- Instructions
for On-Line Registration (Old Guard and Student Design Competitions
Only)"ASME has an online registration site for the Old Guard and Student Design
Competitions. If you choose to use the online competition registration
site, then edit these instructions as needed and post on your web site for
students to use. Make sure students also register for the SPDC - this
is done separately. Let Marian Heller know if you are going to use the
online registration form, so she can download and send you the information."
