We are pleased to invite participants from around the world to register for the 52nd ASME Pressure Vessels & Piping Conference (PVP). Online registration will allow you the opportunity to make changes and additions to your registration as necessary until Monday, July 15, 2018.

You are entitled to present up to two papers on which you are listed as an author. Only an author of a paper is permitted to present that paper. Please be advised the Conference Secretariat will:

REGISTRATION FEE CATEGORIES

Member and Presenting Author Rate is applicable to a member of ASME or any of the PVP Conference co-sponsoring organizations.

Non-Member Rate includes a one year complimentary ASME membership. ASME will contact you after the Conference to provide further details.

Student Rate Requirements and Qualifications: Attendee must be a current student at a University or in a PHD program to get a student rate.

Proof of student status is required to confirm the student rate. Proof consists of a copy of the student's identification card or a letter from the institution's registrar verifying student status. Please have documentation available and/or send to the Registration Manager at Sea to Sky Meeting Management Inc. via the contact information listed at the bottom of the page

One-Day Rate is applicable to members and non-members attending the Conference for one day, with the date of attendance specified during the registration process.

Registration Fees are quoted and due in Euros (EUR) and include Czech VAT (21%). Current currency conversion rates.

** Awards Gala Attendance: The attendee must be sure to select the Awards Gala option during the registration process. All Guests will require a ticket as well. Attendees will be able to purchase a ticket for a guest during the registration process. Failure to make this selection may result in the Attendee/Guest not having a seat at the dinner as there are a limited amount of seats.

REGISTRATION DEADLINES

The registration fee category is determined by when the payment is received. Regular registration fees will be charged onsite for any unpaid pre-registrations. The deadline for pre-Conference registration is Sunday, July 15, 2018. Registrations will also be accepted onsite. The registration deadlines are as follows:

Payment, Confirmation and Receipt

All payments are due in Euros (EUR). Registration fees are determined by when payment is received. A confirmation email will be sent shortly after you register. If you submitted payment by credit card, a receipt will be included. If you wish to pay by cheque or wire transfer, an invoice will be sent to you via email once you have completed your online registration.

Methods of Payment

Wire Transfer (applicable prior to the Conference)

All wire transfers are payable to “Sea to Sky Meeting Management Ltd.”, are due in EUR and must be received by Monday, June 18, 2018, otherwise payment via another method will be required. On the wire transfer, please note “PVP 2018” and the name of the registrant(s) as a reference. Wire transfer information will be included on the invoice sent upon completion of your registration to the email address provided

Credit Card – American Express, Visa and Master Card

If paying by credit card, “Sea to Sky Meeting Management Ltd.” will appear as the vendor on your credit card statement.

CANCELLATION, REFUND AND SUBSTITUTION POLICY

All cancellations received in writing on or before Monday June 18, 2018 will receive a full refund, less an administration fee of EUR 130 for the Conference. No refunds will be provided for cancellations received after Monday June 18, 2018. As of Tuesday, June 19, 2018 no refunds will be provided.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing by email to pvp@seatoskymeetings.com.

Workshop Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations made through July 2, 2018 will receive a refund, less the administration fee of €40. Refunds are not available after July 2, 2018.

ASME reserves the right to cancel a Workshop if enrolment is insufficient to ensure maximum effectiveness. This decision is made approximately two weeks before the course begins and registrants will receive a full refund or be given the opportunity to transfer to another workshop. Please keep this cancellation policy in mind when making airline reservations, as ASME cannot be responsible for fees charged for cancelling or changing your airline ticket. Course students are responsible for handling all travel arrangements and the costs associated with their travel.

Individuals take part in the PVP 2018 Conference at their own risk and are responsible for their own health and travel insurance arrangements.

FAQ on Czech VAT Refund

  1. Why am I paying a VAT on the Meeting Registration Fee?
    You are paying a Value Added Tax (VAT) on the registration fee because it is required by the laws and regulations of the EU and its member states. They establish that VAT must be paid on the registration fees in the country where the meeting is held.

  2. Can the VAT be recovered?
    Business companies from the European Union and business companies from outside the European Union with reciprocity agreement (Switzerland, Norway, Macedonia) can claim back the Czech VAT. To recover the VAT you must provide the details of your company - name, address, VAT number or Tax ID - for all expenses invoices and submit all original documentation to your company for its processing.

    Pay attention that the VAT refund on certain expenses like travel expenses, accommodation, meals or goods and services for personal consumption are not accepted by the Czech Tax Administration

  3. What process should companies follow to recover the VAT?
    1. EU Companies
      EU companies must contact the Tax Administration of their own country for instructions regarding the conditions and process to follow for reclaiming the Czech VAT. There are also minimum VAT amounts that must be met.

      For the refund applications for one to three quarters by an EU company the minimum amount is EUR 400. If the refund application relates to a refund period of a calendar year or the remainder of a calendar year, the amount of VAT may not be less than EUR 50. For conversion of EURO currency into the CZK currency it must be used the exchange rate mentioned by the Czech National Bank for the first working day in January of the year for which the application is submitted. Please note that these amounts refer to ALL the VAT from the expenses incurred FROM ALL ITS EMPLOYEES in the Czech Republic for this meeting and any other business-related VAT incurred in the Czech Republic

    2. Non-European Companies
      TThe Non-European companies must send the VAT refund application directly to Finanční úřad pro Prahu 1 (Local Tax Office for Prague 1) at the address below. Please note that an application for a refund of VAT for the relevant calendar year may be filed at the latest by 30 June of the following calendar year. The Non-European companies must fill in the form in Czech language.

      There are also minimum VAT amounts that must be met. The VAT refund must be at least CZK 7,000, unless the refund period is the calendar year or the last period of the calendar year. The refund for these refund periods must be at least CZK 1,000. Please note that these amounts refer to ALL the VAT from the expenses incurred FROM ALL ITS EMPLOYEES in the Czech Republic for this meeting and any other business-related VAT incurred in the Czech Republic.

      The application for VAT refund must be supported by the relevant invoices and a Certification that the applicant is a taxable person registered for VAT or similar taxes issued by the tax authority from the country of his establishment (ex: for US companies = IRS form 6166).
