ALL FOREIGN ATTENDEES ARE REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR A CONFERENCE VISA

Period: For the duration of the conference or seminar
All foreign nationals entering India are required to possess a valid international travel document in the form of a national passport with a valid visa obtained from an Indian Mission or Post abroad.

All Individual visa seekers are requested to apply through the Indian Visa online application. Or can apply by typing the URL: http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/ in the address bar of web browser, in order to make an application for getting the Indian visa. In either case, no hand written application form will be accepted by any of the Indian Mission/ Post, where-ever online Visa facility has been implemented.

The duly signed physical copy of the application form completed in all respect and submitted successfully, is to be submitted at the concerned Indian Visa Application Center (IVAC) or directly to Indian Mission/ Post, on the scheduled date of interview along with the requisite supporting documents. The applicants are also requested to visit website of the Indian Mission concerned for detailed information about Indian visa.

Foreign attendees should ensure that they are in possession of a valid Indian Visa before they begin their travels to India. Attendees from Nepal and Bhutan are NOT required to have a Visa to enter India; attendees from Maldives are not required to have a Visa to enter India for a period up to 90 days (a separate Visa regime exists for diplomatic/official passport holders).

The Consular Passport and Visa (CPV) Division of the Ministry of External Affairs is responsible for issuance of Indian Visas to foreign attendees. This facility is granted through various Indian missions abroad.

Visa fees are non-refundable and subject to change without notice. The High Commission reserves the right to grant and decide the type and duration of Visa, irrespective of the fees tendered at the time of application. Granting a Visa does not confer right of entry to India and is subject to the discretion of the Immigration Authorities.

Procedure for Obtaining Visa:
Visas can be applied for in person or by post at the High Commission of India based in your country from where the candidate intends to depart for India.

Requirements for Visa:
Generally the following documents are required for obtaining an Indian Visa. However, requirements may vary from country to country.

  • Original passport valid for at least 6 months
  • Duly completed application form
  • Visa fee
  • Two passport size photographs
  • Supporting documents, where necessary
  • An invitation letter will be sent by ASME 2017 Gas Turbine India Conference Secretariat after successful registration.
  • Approval letter from the Ministry of External affairs (MEA)
  • Approval letter from the Ministry of Home affairs (MHA)

Delegates from Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, Foreigners of Pakistani Origin and Stateless persons

We must obtain prior and specific approval for attendees from Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, Pakistan, and Stateless persons. Please provide the below information to the conference secretariat at your earliest convenience with a copy of your passport:

Kindly send us all these details and submit to igtiprogram@asme.org, 3 months prior to the conference. The Ministry of External Affairs of India will be notified of the conference, and accordingly the Indian missions in all countries will be in contact with the Ministry of External Affairs.
