ASME Financial Aid for Students

Financial aid helps to bring the best talent into the engineering workforce. Opportunities for student support are possible only with the support of corporate as well as academic communities.

ASME Scholarships:

ASME scholarships vary in detail but offer ASME student members a wide range of opportunities for support, many of which are open to the global community.

ASME Student Loans:

ASME Auxiliary student loans (up to $5,000 each) are made available throughout the year. Junior, senior, or graduate mechanical engineering students may apply at any time. [LINK to 5.15.4]

ASME Foundation student loans, which often benefit from very low interest rates, enable qualified full-time undergraduate students in the United States, Canada, and Mexico to borrow up to $3,000 for each academic year to a maximum of $9,000. Full-time graduate students may request an additional $3,000. Deadline cycles: April 15 and October 15, annually. [LINK to 5.15.3.1]

Graduate Teaching Fellowships:

Outstanding doctoral candidates who want to pursue careers in engineering education can apply for $5,000 graduate teaching fellowships, which can be renewed with an additional $5,000 award for a second year.

Are you an ASME student member yet? To become eligible for financial aid, you may apply for membership while applying for a loan or scholarship.
