Join ASME leaders as they explore the integration of engineering, materials science, and nanotechnology in addressing fundamental problems in biology and medicine at the 3rd Global Congress on NanoEngineering for Medicine and Biology (NEMB 2014) this coming February in San Francisco.

The role of nanotechnology in the development of cutting-edge devices, materials, and methods for the early detection, imaging of pathological and physiological mechanisms, and treatment of disease will be discussed. The conference will be held February 2 through 5, 2014 at the historic Westin-St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco's Union Square district. Organizers include

  • Dr. Rashid Bashir, University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign
  • Dr. John Bischof, University of Minnesota
  • Dr. Markus Buehler, Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  • Dr. Guy Genin, Washington University, St. Louis
  • Dr. Taher Saif, University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign
  • Dr. Malisa Sarntinoranont, University of Florida

NEMB 2014 follows a successful conference this past February, where 400 attendees gathered in Boston. Participants represented a wide range of experts, with 100 of the attendees hailing from countries spread from Singapore to Denmark. Programming at NEMB included sessions in eight technical tracks and plenary sessions led by scientists, engineers, and clinicians in nanotechnology disciplines. Plenary speakers included

  • Joanna Aizenberg, Harvard University
  • Albert-László Barabási, Northeastern University
  • Markus Buehler, MIT
  • Sam Gambhir, Stanford University
  • Huajian Gao, Brown University
  • Don Ingber, Harvard Medical School
  • Rakesh Jain, Harvard Medical School
  • Robert Langer, MIT
  • C.T. Lim, National University of Singapore
  • Chad A. Mirkin, Northwestern University
  • David Mooney, Harvard University
  • Viola Vogel, ETH Zurich
