| Q: | Can you tell me more about the on-line courses? |
| A: | All of the courses are available on-line as either self study courses or instructor led course. For the instructor led courses, you can sign up for the course of your choice on the date that you want. These courses have the same material as the self study, but they have an instructor who leads the course and is there for guidance during your learning experience. For self study courses, you can register for these courses at anytime and start at any time. You will have access to the course for 6 weeks. The courses are stored in a learning system called Blackboard. Once you register for a course, you will be emailed the web address, your user name and password. If you are signed up for a self study course, you can get started right away. If you signed up for the instructor led version, you must wait for the start date of the course. You will need Internet access to take any on-line course. |
| Q: | Is there an on-line demo for the courses? |
| A: | Yes! You can preview how the courses are set up in Blackboard (http://208.254.4.133/)by using the free on-line demo. On the Blackboard Entry Page press Login and then Preview This will bring you to the My Institution page-press the orange courses tab at the top of the page and then select the Introduction to Online Learning course on the right column. Note: to access the full course, you will need to create an account. When you see the Login button in the course-follow that to Create an account. |
| Q: | If I pay for the course, does it also cover my exam fee? |
| A: | The fee you pay for online preparatory courses does not cover the examination cost. To take EMCI examination, you need to pay a separate examination fee. |
| Q: | Who developed the course and why should I take the courses? |
| A: | The short courses are developed by subject area experts based on the knowledge and task skills categorized under the EMCI body of knowledge, that may help you pass the EMCI examination. |
