| Q: | What is the time commitment involved in volunteering as a ASME/ABET Program Evaluator? |
| A: | Typically a Program Evaluator is assigned one visit per year. The time commitment involved for a visit includes 1) Approximately 30 hours pre-visit preparation (over a span of a few months on your own), 2) 2.5 days accreditation visit at the institution (typically Sunday, Monday, and a half-day on Tuesday), plus travel time and report generation (started before you leave the visit and completed on your own). |
| Q: | What kind of training will I receive before being assigned to an accreditation visit? |
| A: | All selected Program Evaluators are required to sucessfully complete a Program Evaluator Training Workshop. Upon completion of the workshop, Program Evaluator candidates will be assigned as observers on visits with experienced Program Evaluators.
