NEW YORK, Mar. 22, 2006 – The 2006 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition, featuring presentations on new developments in technology, will be held Nov. 5-10, at the Hilton Chicago.
The conference will bring together engineers and scientists from around the world to discuss and demonstrate advanced technologies in diverse fields, among them energy, aerospace, materials, and applied mechanics.
The program also will include special tracks organized around industries and technical disciplines that are receiving heightened interest in the engineering community. These tracks include energy, biomedical systems, transportation, and homeland security.
A track on engineering business management will spotlight the growing trend in engineering to obtain knowledge and skills in strategic planning, marketing, finances, and other areas that employers consider essential for career success and longevity.
The industry tracks reflect one of the Society’s new strategic initiatives to reach out to engineers in industry, and to develop content that promotes corporate innovation and productivity.
The exposition will showcase the new engineering tools and methodologies providing competitive advantages for today’s technology firms, as well as the latest offerings of leading technical publishers.
Other highlights at the Congress include the Young Engineers Forum, Student Design Contest finals, and the Honors Assembly ceremony recognizing service and achievement in mechanical engineering.
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a not-for-profit professional organization promoting the art, science and practice of mechanical and multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences.
