If you have ever had strong opinions about federal or state government decisions, take heart. As an ASME member, you are part of a group of people known and respected for expertise in technical topics. As an individual, you can always speak out on the issues, but as a member of ASME you have increased clout in the public policy process through collective action.
The ASME Board on Government Relations has established a participatory action program for Society members. Those members are a part of a team that is mobilized via electronic mail for letter writing campaigns, visits with legislators, or telephone calls, when necessary to show support or opposition for legislation, in accordance with Society positions. Also see the Public Policy Agenda of ASME.
All Action Network Team members have access to electronic mail. Team members will receive action alerts and news updates via e-mail. Action Network Team members are also encouraged to check the ASME International Government Relations home page for current information.
To participate in ASME's Government Relations Action Network Team, simply send us an email and tell us you want to join. Please include your full name, email address and membership number. Thank you for your interest and participation!
