A brief success story from Alireza Moharrer:
I connected with my mentee immediately and enjoy communicating with this young engineer. I communicated with my mentee as often as the mentee replied with questions plus my own additional input to clarify subject matter inquiries; essentially I try to provide high level guidance from a standpoint of situating the mentee toward his/her own early career development. I would continue to correspond with my mentee outside the eMentoring program depending on the interest level and depth of questions; professional associations address work, career, continual development and individual perspectives ... I work with mentees as needed. My experience as an e-mentor was satisfying in a sense of helping someone get a bearing and perspective of what are the possible areas of growth and how to engage the career market.
We are always looking for interested mentors. Please click here to register to become a mentor if you would like to influence the career and academic choices of student engineers and help early career engineers find their way in the profession.
