Technology and Society Division - Volunteer Outreach (over 5,000 members) For divisions who are interested in growing their volunteer base, the membership/volunteer outreach activity within the T&S Division is a highly successful practice that attracts volunteers and infuses new membership into the division. What separates this from other practices is that it adds value to the individual volunteer. This is a best practice because there is personal contact with each member that responds to a solicitation from the division and that person is given the opportunity to put forward their own ideas. >> more details
Management Division - Membership Outreach (Over 24,000 members) For divisions interested in a program that provides the executive committee historical knowledge and wisdom, the PVP Senate is a very successful program that provides guidance, training and assistance to the members of the executive committee. What separates this practice from others is that the experience and knowledge gained while in office is perpetuated through the Senate to plan and improve divisional functions. This is a best practice because it helps to manage the many activities of the division, and provides “corporate memory”, which results in reducing the need for ASME staff support and expenses. >> more details |
