Submitting a Request for an ASME Strategic Priorities Grant Please use this page to locate information and frequently asked questions regarding the submission process for funding ASME Priority Initiatives.
Q. Who can submit a request to fund a priority initiative?
A. Any ASME program development entity may submit a proposal to the Grant Management Committee (GMC).
Q. How should a request to fund a priority initiative be submitted?
A. Proposers should review the Proposal Evaluation Criteria. If you feel your project or initiative fits the criteria you will need to complete the Strategic Priorities Application Form.
Q. How often are the proposals reviewed?
Proposals are reviewed four times per year based on available funding. The deadline is set approximately 6-8 weeks prior to the next Board of Governors meeting.
Q. Who reviews the requests?
A. The GMC reviews the proposal and uses the evaluation criteria to make recommendations regarding funding.
Q. Who makes the decision to award the funds?
A. The GMC recommends awards for grants of up to $50,000 to the President and Executive Director. GMC recommendations for awards of grants exceeding $50,000 will be made to the ASME Board of Governors.
Q. How will I know if my proposal is accepted?
A. A representative of the GMC will notify proposers as to whether their proposal has been accepted. In the event the proposal is rejected, feedback will be provided as to why the proposal may not have been funded, i.e., does not meet criteria or insufficient funds available.
Q. How is the process of new initiatives monitored?
A. Reports to the GMC are required at the end of the project period, and not less than annually. The GMC will keep the Committee on Finance and Investments informed of the process and status on a quarterly basis. |
