Process for Submission and Monitoring of an ASME Development Fund Request

Q. Who can submit a request?

A. Any unit of the Society may submit a request for an eligible project.

Q. How should a request for Development Funds be submitted?

A. Templates are available to submit a request. Requesting units will need to provide the project title, identify area of responsibility, responsible staff member(s), the scope of the proposed project/program, budget details and an Operating Plan. Requests for funding under $50,000 are submitted to the ASME President and Executive Director. Requests for funding over $50,000 are submitted to the COFI.

Q. How are approved funding requests monitored?

A. A semiannual report showing expenditures, describing process, and documented achievement of program milestones shall be submitted to the Committee on Finance and Investment. A final report should include achievements compared with objectives and total expenditures and achievability of longer term objectives.
