Starting an Affinity Group

Thinking about starting an affinity group?  Here’s how.

  1. Decide on the group’s purpose
     
  2. Find at least five other ASME members who share your interest and enthusiasm
     
  3. Read the Formation and Operation of Affinity Groups Guide
     
  4. Fill out the online Petition to Establish An Affinity Group
      
  5. Wait for the Affinity Communities Board to approve your petition
     
  6. Begin executing the group’s stated mission
