Recognized for his collected publications on the history of aircraft piston engines, including Allied Aircraft Piston Engines of World War II, R-2800: Pratt and Whitney's Dependable Masterpiece, and R-4360: Pratt & Whitney's Major Miracle

The ceremony took place during the Archimedes Club Reception at the Society's Annual Meeting in Palm Desert, California, on June 13th, 2009.  The event was sponsored by the ASME Foundation.
