(Maximum Baseline Points = 100)
Points = 5 * (Distance Factor) * (Attendance Factor) Points will be awarded for tours of a facility that are of educational value to engineering students. Such tours include manufacturing plants, power stations, science museums, laboratories, maintenance facilities, HVAC installations, etc. They may be arranged by ASME or another group. If a long trip results in visiting more than one facility, a Distance Factor greater than 1 can only be used on one of the tours. The second, etc. facility visited must use a Distance Factor of 1. A trip associated with any academic course (such as a design project) may be counted only twice per year, even if the contest baseline is met. Tours that are part of the job interview process or while on the job do not count. Tours should be reported in the Monthly Report (Supplement 1), and on Supplement 3 (duplicate if necessary) for the Final Report.

For calculating percentage (%) of members attending, use the student section roster closest to the date of the event. The student section advisor can obtain an online roster of membership throughout the school year. Use either percentage or total number of attendees to maximize Attendance Factor..
