Objective:
Design a device that will receive the maximum number of points from
the following formula:
Total Points = 100 x Height (inches) + Weight (grams) of weight pan supported
Rules:
You may only use materials in your design packet (including the plastic bag) but you may use them in any way you choose.
Each device must be made from the equivalent contests of only one (1) packet.
Design must support the weight pan at least three (3) inches above the ground.
Design must support at least the weight of the weight pan (aluminum pizza pan).
Contest Format:
Each packet contains a number. Numbers will be called out starting at 8:30 Friday evening. You are expected to have your device ready for evaluation in two (2) minutes. You will be responsible for loading your own device; weights will be supplied.
The weight recorded will be the maximum load supported BEFORE collapsing. Final decisions will be made by the design chairman.
One award will be given for each winning device regardless of the number of people who constructed it.
