ASME GONZAGA UNIVERSITY (1986)

 

  • Must travel 75 ft. in the air and finish (stop) on bull's eye.
  • Must come to rest - nearest to bull's eye wins.
  • Must not use:  compressed gases or fluids, solid or liquid fuel or remote control.
  • Must weigh less than 1lb.
  • No dimension may exceed three feet at any time.
  • Two test runs allowed without any design alterations.
  • Must include an empty aluminum can intact in design.
  • One competitive final run only, starting at 12:00 PM, April 4th.
  • Facilities open (Martin Center Court #63) from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM for trial runs.
  • Total time allotted per competitive run - 3 minutes per entry.
  • Vehicle must stay within lateral boundary lines - 30 ft. wide.
  • Must be self propelled - no projectiles, gliders or rockets.
  • Will be judged on performance only - not appearance.
  • Court and facilities set up by G.U. ASME Chapter.
  • Sign up for Design competition upon conference registration or be ineligible to compete.
  • First prize - $50.00.  Second prize will be determined.
  • Will be judged by the ASME Regional Vice President.
  • Be imaginative so get an early start on your design.
