Goals & Objectives

The project is divided into three phases:

  • Phase I of this project is to identify innovative practices and award the most innovative educators from high schools around the country.
  • Phase II will catalog the best practice material and curricula on the internet for wide dissemination to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) teachers.
  • Phase III will pool these innovations with other collected K-12 resources of ASME and other societies.

Project Objectives

  • Recognize, reward, and celebrate innovative and exemplary design-oriented engineering high school curricula and practices by leading STEM teachers.
  • Publish and promote, in ASME and other technology education forums, education materials and activities that bring a realistic engineering design experience to high school students as part of their prescribed curriculum,
  • Create opportunities for a cross-pollination environment where teachers can learn design and production from engineers, and where engineers can learn effective ways to outreach to their children in STEM.
