This course covers the requirements of ASME Section IX by reviewing basic welding metallurgy. With the emphasis on writing and qualifying Code-compliant welding procedures, the course also presents a clean approach to qualifying welders and operators.

Instructor Walter J. Sperko is President of Sperko Engineering Services, Inc.. He is vice-Chairman of Subcommittee IX and a member of several of its subgroups, Chairman of ASME B31.9 Building Services Piping committee, a member of the B31 Standards Committee and Chairman of AWS International Standards Activities Committee, which represents the US at ISO/TC44, Welding and Allied Processes. He is a professional engineer registered in several states and holds four US patents and is also Chairman of the Pressure Vessel Research Committee (PVRC).
