Master of Engineering in Professional Practice

The Master of Engineering in Professional Practice (MEPP) is a cross-disciplinary program that gives you the tools and capabilities to be more effective as an engineer and technical leader in the 21st century. The problem-based, application-oriented courses provide the engineering, communications, management and computer skills most needed for advancement in project and program management.
MEPP is a fast-track, two-year program that requires 26 graduate credits obtained by completing the 10 courses listed below.

Technical Project Management

Engineering Problem Solving with Computers
Communicating Technical Information

Year Two: Summer
Independent Reading and Research in Applied Engineering

Engineering Applications of Statistics
International Engineering Strategies and Operations

Year Two: Spring
Quality Engineering and Quality Management
Engineering and Business Data Communications

Who will benefit
Practical and results-oriented, MEPP provides an alternative to an MBA for practicing engineers from any field seeking to advance in project and program management. The MEPP curriculum is specially designed to meet the needs of engineering team leaders, staff engineers, plant and facilities engineers, consulting engineers, municipal engineers, sales engineers, and application engineers.

Sponsoring organizations will also benefit as staff members complete this degree without disrupting work hours or travel requirements. The skills offered in this degree should help your organization improve productivity, team-oriented engineering and customer satisfaction.
