ASME is a founding participating body of ABET, Inc. (the recognized accreditor
of degree-granting postsecondary programs in applied science, computing,
engineering, and technology
).

ASME has lead responsibility for over 425 undergraduate degree programs at universities, colleges and community colleges throughout the U.S., including:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology
  • Engineering Mechanics
  • Drafting/Design Engineering Technology

ASME also has Cooperating Society responsibilities for:
