Historical Landmark
The Boulton & Watt Rotative Steam Engine (1785), the oldest surviving operable rotative steam engine, was designated an ASME Historic Landmark in April 1986.

The Section sponsors awards to their members - Professor Allan Witghly from Warman International was presented an award for "Significant Contribution to Mechanical/Mechatronic Engineering" in 2002.
