Hunt, Robert Woolston
| (1838-1923), U.S. mechanical engineer and ASME's 10th president (1891-92), established the first analytical laboratory for iron works at Cambria Iron Company, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and invented, with others, automatic rail mills. He held patents in steel and iron processes and machinery. During his career, he worked with John Fritz and Alexander Holley to help design and build the Cambria Bessemer steel plant. He was born Dec. 9, 1838, Fallsington, Pennsylvania, and died July 11, 1923, Chicago. |
