History of Technology Links

From its inception in 1971, ASME's History and Heritage program has looked toward groups, such as the Smithsonian Institution, the Historic American Engineering Record, and Linda Hall Library, as valued resources. Links to these and other organizations are provided to help bring the engineer closer to the history community. For links to landmark-related web sites, check the data pages in the roster.

Highlights
John H. Lienhard, Ph.D., ASME Honorary Member and Fellow, has a web site (including scripts) for his outstanding "Engines of Our Ingenuity," which airs weekdays on KUHF-FM Houston (88.7) and many National Public Radio affiliates throughout the United States: http://www.uh.edu/engines.

The Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) has documented several ASME landmarks. To find out more about HAER's work with ASME, select HAER here.  Or go directly to HAER's web site: http://www.cr.nps.gov/habshaer/haer/.

The Sightseer's Guide to Engineering was launched in February 2001 by NSPE and Engineers Week. You can suggest new sites or browse by (US) states.
