You might consider using your engineering knowledge to help others through organizations like Habitat for Humanity, or you may want to participate in programs to help children learn about math and science. Challenge Teacher and Student Perceptions about Engineering Reach out to your local elementary, middle or high schools. You can encourage teachers to introduce engineering concepts into their science, math and technology lesson plans or incorporate into after-school initiatives and get students excited about engineering. Engineering is not always prevalent in the school systems and working with young people and teachers can be very rewarding.
