The 25th Young Engineer Forum was held at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel in Orlando Florida. Approximately 50 students and early career engineers attended the forum, which was focused on communication skills, networking, and career/workplace advice. 
Following an Industry Breakfast, Carl Selinger, Principle of Carl Selinger Service, lead an energetic discussion entitled Stuff you don’t learn in Engineering School including Essential Habits for Success for Engineer. The third morning session was entitled How to Communicate Effectively with your Boss that discussed how to deal with those common and often stressful situations.
The remainder of the day was broken up into different sessions allowing participates to choose the sessions which most interested them. These sessions included To PE or not to PE: What’s best for your career, Acing the Interview, Secrets to Smart Networking, and The Ethics of Sustainable Engineering. A resume review session was also available for attendees to have their resumes reviewed by leading industry engineers, local recruiters and career service representatives.
The final session of the day was a panel discussion entitled Career Q and A with Executive Management. This session allowed the participants to directly ask questions that lead to an exciting dialog about the future of engineering and the different career paths available to young engineers.
As an added bonus there were two companies (McCormick/Stevenson & Owens Corning) on-site recruiting; to fill various engineering positions available at their companies.
