Celebrating Women in Engineering, a poster project featuring outstanding and contemporary women engineers, is currently available through the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME International). Developed by the ASME Student Section at the City College of New York, the series contains 14 posters, each displaying a photo of an outstanding woman engineer, along with information about their achievements and an insightful quote designed to inspire young women to consider a career in engineering.
The poster series was sponsored by the Diversity Action Grant program of the ASME Board on Diversity and Outreach and also received support from the Alumni Association of the City College of New York (CCNY) and the City College Fund.
The featured women were selected from a list of candidates of women members of the National Academy of Engineering and through contacts with the ASME Board on Diversity and Outreach, Institute for Women and Technology, Women in Engineering programs at Penn State University and the University of Colorado, and the Journeys of Women in Science and Engineering journal.
