Information on how to submit the completed application with associated fees is contained on the second page of the application.
Overview of the GDTP certification process for new applicants:
- Once a completed application with fees is received, processed and accepted, ASME will respond via mail or email with an acceptance letter containing an applicant identification code. This letter contains important information regarding scheduling and rules governing the actual examination. The applicant identification code is used to schedule your examination at a Prometric Test Center.
- Once you have your acceptance letter, contact a Prometric Test Center (click here)to find the center nearest you, schedule an appointment, confirm or modify an appointment. Please review your acceptance letter carefully as there are rules which apply once you have scheduled an appointment with Prometric.
- Take the exam.
- ASME will notify applicants of test results via mail or email within thirty (30) days after the exam. If the applicant was successful, a certificate is mailed and their name is entered on the Certificate Holders listing on ASME's web site. If the applicant was not successful, the option of retesting is available.
