The ASME QEI Accreditation Program covers organizations that certify elevator inspectors and inspector supervisors in accordance with the ASME QEI-1 Standard. Inspectors certified by accredited organizations are qualified to inspect elevators, escalators, and related equipment covered by the ASME A17.1 Elevator Code.

On June 23, 2008 ASME will be revoking the accreditation of the QEI Certification Program administered by Lift Technologies International, Inc. If you are in possession of valid certification documents issued by Lift Technologies International, Inc., it is suggested that you contact another accredited organization prior to June 23, 2008 or the expiration date of your certification, whichever date is earliest, to determine the possibility of transferring and obtaining new certification documents from another accredited organization. If your certification from Lift Technologies International, Inc., has lapsed and you have documentation supporting your attempts to renew your certification, it is suggested that you contact another accredited organization immediately to determine the possibility of obtaining new certification documents. The other accredited organizations are aware of the pending situation; however, each of them have their own unique certification program, and therefore, there is no guarantee that you will meet their criteria for certification. |
