Fundraising Assistant

ASME, a world-renowned leader in the mechanical engineering field will be looking to fill the position of Administrator, Governance and Foundation. ASME, a not-for-profit educational and techni­cal organization headquartered in NYC, has 127,000 members worldwide, 5 loca­tions in the U.S. and 3 overseas, over 300 employees, and $70 million in revenue.

The Administrator, Governance and Foundation is responsible for overall administrative support to the Foundation and Governance team. This individual will help carry out the work to support the smooth operation of the ASME Board of Governors, and provide support for the BOG Meetings including compilation of materials and reports, facility arrangements and invitations. In our Foundation area, the Administrator will coordinate and devise systems to support and provide service to the Board of Directors of the ASME Foundation and members of the Archimedes Club including meeting agendas, minutes and logistics. A successful incumbent will also prepare, track and process annual campaign contributions, develop  correspondence, prepare reports and conduct follow-up when appropriate.

A successful incumbent will oversee two scholarship programs, managing all aspects of scholarships from intake to award distribution, maintain agendas and minutes, conduct yearly ballot (for the ASME Auxiliary), and prepare for Governance and Foundation participation in two annual society events, the ASME Annual Meeting in June and IMECE in November.

The position requires a minimum of two years of high-level administrative experience in a fundraising or grants-making related setting with a proven record of attention to detail and accuracy.  A college degree or its equivalency is preferred.  Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.  Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.  Fundraising campaign experience or environment is a plus.  Familiarity with working on the web and with fundraising software a plus.
